Days of Summer - A Very Potter Sequel
Because this is relevant right now.
Just let the tears spill out. But when you’re done with that, take a minute just to read what I’m about to say.
Everyone’s incredibly sad because ‘it’s ending’. And I’m not going to lie and say I’m not sad too. But it’s not going to end.
Harry Potter is not the book series. Harry Potter is not the movies. Harry Potter is not J.K. Rowling. Harry Potter is us. It’s everything we’ve gone through together, no matter how long we’ve been in the fandom.
Harry Potter is the endless discussions on Snape’s allegiance. It is the endless hours spent trying to open the door on J.K. Rowling’s website. It is the time spent waiting in line for a book release/convention/movie release, singing ‘Do the Hippogriff’ and ‘Get Back to Hogwarts’.
I know it’s cliched, but if you’re not going to listen to me, listen to Dumbledore. Harry Potter will only truly have left this world when none here are loyal to it.
And as long as we’re around to keep the spirit alive, to have our Quidditch games, to sing the Sorting Hat song, to have our own Yule Ball, Harry Potter will always be around.
